Ok I really do suck at this blogging stuff.

Life is just soo hectic here lately, and the computer still being in Bodhi's room, well I don't get on it much anymore. But on the up side - my house is cleaner - sorta....................................

Not much knitting has been happening lately. Still finishing off bits and pieces I have started and not finished :( But I have been doing a splodge of dyeing lately. There's some leaving my house this week for south of me, and some for WAY north too. They know how they are.

And I took their wool to a group Bec and I have recently discovered here in Wagga - Knitting and Knotting is 1st and 3rd Thursday of the month at a local hotel (swanky one). We sit and knit and talk all yarny stuff - ITS GREAT!!!!! There is a highly talented free form knitter there and I am hoping to learn some bits and bobs from her to put into my store stuff. It's mainly girly stuff I am looking at right now and a planned boy piece for summer.

And in addition to my new found enablers group, I am thinking of revamping BumNRound to be more Boutique type pieces, whilst still being cloth related and wholely wearable and with uses.

Oh yeah, and Bodhi has started walking - Way too early for my liking, but he isn't full time walking yet - He has taken a couple of steps a few times, but still prefers to cruise, or crawl (cause he's mega fast at that too)

Oh and Lesley - I WANT CUPCAKES!!! Just kidding

I am such a slack blogger

Okay, well I suck at it.

Life here is busy as. I am back at work 2 days a week, and the kids are hectic. B is crawling up a storm, climbing stairs and generally doing stuff a 9 month old shouldn't.

H is terrorising his brother and being a little bugger most of the time, but does have his moments like tonight "Love you mummy, hugga me".

Its enough to melt ones heart specially when you are worn thin throughout the day with "stop" "for Frig sake, leave your brother ALONE!!!!"

We had professional photos taken of the boys in February, cost a fortune, but I won't be doing it that often. So here's a photo I took of one of the framed collages. It's a bit grainy and shiny, cause of the print finish.

Wooly mail

I don't normally buy woolies knitted up but thought - hell why not.

I got these from Leslie at Little Blue Frog Works http://www.littlebluefrogworks.com

The yarn came from Little Turtle Knits in NYC colourway - its grey blues and natural. I am pretty sure its Targee - but really don't care. I got them made extra long in the leg for my Mr Daddylonglegs and with pockets too.

He is wearing a handdyed spencer I did before the longies arrived, but as you can see it matches perfectly. Just need to remember not to put handdyed spencers in the wash for their first wash - Henry's singlets now have grey necklines on the elasticy bit that is obviously nylon and a lovely varigated baby jacket my nan made in acrylic crap is now actually a lovely grey shade (personally I think it improves it!!)

Please 'scuse my floor - my house seriously looks like a tip right now - I would soooo love a day at home with even JUST the kids - we seem to have tradesmen coming out of our ears lately.

my knitting history

In light of Rach's http://www.stitchsista.blogspot.com/ knitting history entry, and the fact I am home alone with both my babies at daycare for the very first time (Bodhi's first day ready for me to go back to work), I thought I would do a similar entry.

My nanny, my beloved nanny, taught me to knit at 2 years old - you might think a bit strange, but I was always a crafty child, and she still has my very first scarf I made. It's this horrible crappy acrylic stuff - yicky!!!

Over my preteen years, I would often knit "things" and when I was 9 I made my sister a jumper (she was 4). It was suprisingly simple but good - it's still at my dads. And so continued my simple knitting phase.

In my mid teens a lovely lady I knew - Hi Miss Bev - introduced me to better quality yarn. It was Bendigo stuff, but nice compared to knitting Carnival and Magnum. She was an avid knitter of anything she could get her hands on that didn't look nanna-ish. She bought me a Aran jumper pattern kit and off I went. I loved loved loved loved it. I still have it - can't wear it cause my boobs are way too big for it these days. And from there I entered the world of cables, entrelac and a few other things.

I never made anything majorly interesting. Till...................

I found cloth nappies and this idea of wool soakers. Well that started it as well as internet patterns and yarn stores. With help of my nanny and her old pattern drafting books and a few other researched techniques courtesy of the internout, I drafted up my own shorties/longies pattern. Since then I have made my own soaker pattern to.

I love dyeing the yarn that I use, but still covert other people's dyeing efforts. I must give a MAJOR big thank you to the other "Bags" cause without you, I wouldn't be using the lovely sourced yarns that we have. I would also like to thank you all for the inspiration to keep knitting and changing and expanding my brain and it's wacky ideas.

So there you go - in a nut shell. So much achieved, yet sooo many more things to try and master

Besides my bank balance - which is not pretty, these are some of the things that have come out of my dye pot recently. Just a smattering of whatever - not all that i have done, but just a few I like :)

This is my Bodhi - 6 months old - there are two teeth on teh bottom and now one on the top - but not a front one :(

This is my Henry Monster day before he turned two. So angelic when he wants to be - trust me its a facade!!

And this is Henry about the same age as Bodhi - yes you certainly can tell that they are brothers.

some soakers

Okay haven't been around much. I thought I needed to do a few collective postings with what I have knitted in the past, so I can refer people to that, seeing i don't have a website or gallery and I am too lazy to make one. Hell, I barely post here these days.

Heres some of my Mini Wonder soakers I have made - they are made under Cottage licence from Wooly Wonder (thanks to Pamela). Its a great soaker pattern and fits pretty much from birth to roughly 8ish months depending on bubba. My big fat boofa is out of his already at 6 months (today!!!!!)

And I am still learning this blogging stuff - pretty hard for someone pooter illiterate
